Economics had always been my weakest subject as I found it difficult to grasp the concept. I hardly passed in school’s tests and exams in my two years of JC life.
About three months before the ‘A’ Level examination 2010, I joined Ms Foo’s class. Ms Foo’s lessons were engaging and she explained concepts clearly. She was caring and meticulous, and never failed to put on a smile every lesson. She puts in effort in her lessons by preparing news articles related to Economics and explaining them to us. She also prepared many papers from different schools for us to practise on. I can always feel free to ask questions and clear my doubts.
Ms Foo made Economics more interesting and made me feel more well prepared for exams. I am grateful for what Ms Foo had done. I scored a B for my ‘A’ Level examination in 2010! This is a huge improvement from my performance in school (usually ‘S’ or ‘U’ grades).
Thank you, Ms Foo! :)

I joined Ms Foo in early 2010 for Economics tuition lessons. Although I started lessons with Ms Foo late, no time was wasted at all as she quickly sat down with me and made sure that I was on par with my peers in school.
Her effective teaching methods which includes the oral discussion of essay questions and analysis of case studies, had allowed me to develop quick-thinking skills as well as the ability to expand my ideas coherently into a proper paragraph. In addition, a patient tutor herself, Ms Foo makes sure that I clearly understand a particular economic theory by taking time to explain the concept concisely to me. In order to allow me to better understand such concepts, Ms Foo often provides me with real-life examples through newspaper articles and current affairs.
Lastly, I am thankful to Ms Foo for her tireless effort in marking and correcting the assignments I had handed in – her comments and feedback had made a great difference in the quality of my written work and an overall improvement in the subject.
Overall, Ms Foo is not only a tutor to me but more of a friend who would always be there to encourage and support me all the way to the end. Thank you Ms Foo! :)

The two-hour sessions are just right and I am able to absorb most of the content and skills taught. I find the techniques taught to approach the questions to be very useful in exams. Since are are given at most 5 minutes to plan out the essay and structure it in a clear manner, techniques like identifying the “invisible” components to start the introduction paragraph and the “start and end points” become very helpful. In the few months of tuition, I have gained alot of exposure to questions at

I have always felt like I could not keep up with the class in school as the teacher was too fast and being a slightly slower learner, I got a U grade. After coming to Ms Foo’s class, my understanding of the subject improved drastically due to her patient and very coherent explanations, which facilitated learning at a breakneck pace. Ms Foo’s friendly demeanour is also very approachable – meaning that me and my classmates could easily speak up about any concerns we had, fine-tuning to our style of communication and making it possible to discuss questions effectively. Besides that, Ms Foo’s extensive knowledge of the subject enables real world learning, often teaching us applications of theoretical concepts in real life, and even helping us learn more about current events that are relevant to our studies – an important aspect of Economics as we are expected to write about that in our essays. The classroom that we learn in is also very conducive, being just the right size to engage the students.

Ms Foo is a very helpful tutor who provides us with many resources including notes. She explains concepts clearly and uses many real-world examples to help us understand the theories and answers to different questions. She also provides us with a lot of help as she is always open to any questions we have, answering them in the middle of lessons or through text, and provides us with her review and marking of our own practices outside of class. She is also very caring and dedicated to each student as she takes the effort to remember our strengths, weaknesses and habits. Apart from academic teaching and learning, she often shares with us and cares for our well-being through advising us to sleep well and provides snacks for us to stay fresh during lessons.

Ms Foo is a very understanding and patient teacher whom you can approach to clarify your doubts. The lessons are of good pace and there are a range of practices that are provided for you to practise and apply the concepts that you have learnt. There is also a very flexible lesson system whereby you can choose to focus on a particular topic of Economics if you want to. There is also a very conducive and fun environment whereby every student participates actively in class and they are able to learn from one another to help improve their grades.

First started out being really bad in Economics getting nothing higher than U grade. After attending Ms Foo’s lessons, I learnt skills on how to approach questions, how to write up proper introduction and staying on topic of the questions. Classes are small in size which is great as there is better focus on each student, moreover the flexibility of classes, being allowed to choose what we would like to focus on, gives us the freedom of choice to focus on our weaker topics in Economics. Although time spent is short, I have seen several improvements in the subject.

In the short time that I have been part of Ms Foo’s tuition, I was able to close many conceptual gaps and misunderstandings. I also discovered many things that I did not even realise was part of my syllabus. Ms Foo is very understanding and is willing to make changes to accommodate for the difficult and stressful scheduling of a JC student. Her group tuition is very interactive as the students ask many questions and she is able to answer quickly and effectively, helping me further understand the concepts. Her one-to-one tuition is very helpful as well as she allows me to voice my concerns and is able to identify my errors in the concepts.
